Blue Chrysanthemum, shoulder bag with crossbody leather strap

Blue chrysanthemum, this crossbody bag is part of a collection inspired by Katagami stencilling, katazome print & indigo dyeing. The design features a detail of a vintage Japanese stencil (c19th family heirloom) that has been delicately printed with rice resist paste. Just one print was taken from the antique stencil and details from this piece have been digitally reproduced on canvas fabric.

A patchwork stripe of plant-dyed panels also features, with madder root dyed on silk and linen in various strengths and shades.

This bag is roomy and can carry daily essentials or be used as a project bag. Adjustable removable leather cross-body leather strap. Chain or webbing strap can be added as alternative.

The lining is linen that has been plant-dyed with iris root.
